Each painting is a visual compilation of details that add up to create the gestalt. When I'm working, I try to approach the work as if each part could be a work of its own. I am aiming, when I am painting, for the viewer to enter into an endless debate regarding whether they like a portion of the painting or the entire painting more. Below are some details from Gospel of Thomas.
The below image is an early detail of the painting before additional layers
Other details from the work are below. In the drips of turquoise metallic paint are selected loggia of the Gospel of Thomas (which are also in the background of the painting in gold) in a vibrant indigo.
